"That which does not kill you makes you stronger."

Anonymous

"While it is cliché, my life lesson is: That which does not kill you, makes you stronger. This lesson took my entire life to appreciate and has served as a mantra especially over the past 10 years. It is not always easy to live by this lesson. Often, in the heat of a seemingly unbearable situation, I find just saying it over and over in my head brings me some clarity. Ultimately, I believe this lesson just puts things into perspective and makes you realize that you can overcome anything as long as it doesn’t kill you, which no matter how horrible things are, is the ultimate fate we should focus on. Additionally, it teaches you that each and every obstacle in life is a learning experience which acts as a stepping stone to the future."

"The lesson I have learned in my life is that all things are possible believe and trust in the good Lord."
I had five children by the time I was twenty-five. I was married to the champion of abusive men. I had suffered every type of abuse imaginable. I am still haunted until this day by the things this man did to me. I am repeatedly told to forgive him and move on. I did move on when I went out on my own with only a pray to the good Lord for help. I was barefoot and without a roof over my head.

I am thankful that we got through this ordeal. Life was not ever a bed of roses but I have remained steadfast in the Lord knowing where my strength has come from. He has never admitted that he has ever done anything wrong to me therefore I have nothing to forgive. I know that he took me to the hospital where I passed out while he sat beside me. My blood pressure was 220/110 and he would not tell anyone what was wrong with me and he knew why I was near death. I call this attempted murder. I can go on and on.

I learned that there are really good people in the world and people will help you if you will help yourself. Many of the people that helped me I do not even know their names, I don't know if they are alive. I wish that I did know because I would like to thank them for the things they did to heap me come to the place where I am right now.
